Duties of Division regarding training and education of employers and employees

1. The Division, after consultation with
cooperating state agencies, shall:
(a) Conduct directly or by grants or contracts:
(1) Educational programs to provide an
adequate supply of qualified personnel to carry out the purposes of this
chapter.
(2) Informational programs on the
importance of and proper use of adequate safety and health equipment in the
workplace.
(b) Provide for the establishment and supervision
of programs for the education and training of employers and employees in the
recognition, avoidance and prevention of unsafe or unhealthful working
conditions in employments covered by this chapter.
(c) Consult with and advise employers and
employees and organizations representing employers and employees as to
effective means of preventing occupational injuries and diseases. Consultative
services must not detract from the enforcement efforts.
2. The Division shall request competitive
bids for the development of educational and informational programs required by
this section.
3. The Division shall allocate the money
necessary to carry out the educational and informational programs required by
this section.
