Nevada Code § 584.215

Milk testers license required; use of Babcock test; alternate methods of testing; issuance of license

1. Except as otherwise provided in
subsection 2, all testing of milk or cream purchased on the basis of the amount
of butterfat contained therein must be done by a licensed tester, who shall
supervise and is responsible for the operation of the Babcock test of milk or
cream.
2. Methods of testing such milk, other
than the Babcock test, may be used if approved by the Director. If such
approval is given, equipment suitable for the performance of the Babcock test
must be provided and maintained.
3. A license may be issued to a tester by
the Director. The Director shall examine the qualifications of the applicant
for a license, and every applicant must satisfy the Director of his or her
qualifications and comply with the provisions in NRS 584.215 to 584.285 , inclusive, before a license may be
issued.
4. If a method of testing other than the
Babcock test is used, the tester must be licensed to perform that method of
testing and the Babcock test.
