Transfer standards may be used as temporary measurement references to check the accuracy of commercial weighing and measuring equipment. A transfer standard used in such a manner does not satisfy the standards expressed in Appendix A: Fundamental Considerations to the National Institute of Standards and Technology Handbook 44: Specifications, Tolerances, and Other Technical Requirements for Weighing and Measuring Devices , as adopted by reference by regulation of the State Sealer of Measurement Standards.
