1. The treasurer of the district is authorized and required to receive and receipt for and to collect the moneys accruing to the construction fund, the bond fund and the general fund, and to place the same to the credit of the district in the appropriate fund. 2. The treasurer shall be responsible upon his or her official bond for the safekeeping and disbursement of the moneys in such funds.
