Penalty for violating provision of chapter: Criminal penalty; authority of court to require successful completion of course in safe boating as prerequisite to operation of vessel upon interstate waters of State

1. Except as otherwise provided in this
chapter, a person is guilty of a misdemeanor if the person:
(a) Performs an act or attempts to perform an act
made unlawful or prohibited by this chapter;
(b) Willfully fails to perform an act required of
the person by this chapter; or
(c) Violates any order issued or regulation
adopted by the Commission under the provisions of this chapter.
2. A court may prohibit a person who
violates any of the provisions of this chapter from operating a vessel upon the
interstate waters of this State until the person successfully completes, after
the date of the violation, a course in safe boating approved by the National
Association of State Boating Law Administrators. As used in this subsection,
interstate waters of this State means waters forming the boundary between the
State of Nevada and an adjoining state.
