1. Every licensed automobile wrecker shall maintain a record of all vehicles acquired and processed as parts or scrap metal pursuant to NRS 487.105 . The records must be open to inspection during business hours by any peace officer or investigator of the state agency. Every vehicle record must contain: (a) The name and address of the person from whom the vehicle was acquired; (b) The date the vehicle was acquired; (c) The manner in which the vehicle was acquired by the wrecker; (d) The registration number last assigned to the vehicle; (e) A brief description of the vehicle, including, insofar as the data may exist with respect to a given vehicle, the make, type, vehicle identification number, serial number and motor number, or any other number of the vehicle; and (f) Any certificate of title, salvage title, nonrepairable vehicle certificate or other appropriate documentation of ownership required by the Department that was provided to the licensed automobile wrecker by the person from whom the vehicle was acquired. 2. Records maintained pursuant to subsection 1 must be retained by the licensed automobile wrecker for a period of at least 2 years.
