Nevada Code § 482.520

Action by Department on reports of stolen, embezzled and recovered vehicles

Whenever the owner of
any motor vehicle, trailer or semitrailer which is stolen or embezzled files an
affidavit alleging such fact with the Department, it shall immediately suspend
the registration of and refuse to reregister such vehicle until such time as it
is notified that the owner has recovered the vehicle, but notices given as
herein provided shall be effective only during the current registration period
in which given. If during such period the vehicle is not recovered a new affidavit
may be filed with like effect during the ensuing period. Every owner who has
filed an affidavit of theft or embezzlement must immediately notify the
Department of the recovery of such vehicle.
