Nevada Code § 474.537

Reorganization of district as general improvement district to furnish fire protection facilities

1. A fire protection district organized
pursuant to NRS 474.460 or 474.533 may reorganize as a district
created wholly or in part for the purpose of furnishing fire protection
facilities pursuant to chapter 318 of NRS.
2. The reorganization may be initiated by:
(a) A petition signed by a majority of the owners
of property located within the district; or
(b) A resolution of the board of county
commissioners of the county in which the district is located.
3. If the board of county commissioners
determines, after notice and hearing, that the reorganization is feasible and
in the best interests of the county and the district, the board of county
commissioners shall adopt an ordinance reorganizing the district pursuant to chapter 318 of NRS.
4. All debts, obligations, liabilities and
assets of the former district must be assumed or taken over by the reorganized
district.
