Alkaline hydrolysis means the: 1. Reduction of human remains to bone fragments through a water-based process of dissolution using alkaline chemicals and agitation to accelerate natural decomposition; and 2. Processing of the hydrolyzed human remains after their removal from the container in which the process of dissolution occurs.
