Nevada Code § 451.045

Permit for disinterment or removal of human remains within State

1. Except as otherwise provided in NRS 451.050 , the local health officer may
issue a permit for the disinterment or removal of human remains. The permit
must indicate the name of the cemetery, mausoleum, columbarium or other place
of burial where the remains will be interred, inurned or buried.
2. Except as otherwise provided in
subsection 4, a person in charge of a cemetery, mausoleum, columbarium or other
place of burial shall not disinter or remove or permit disinterment or removal
of human remains unless the person has received a copy of such a permit.
3. A person who violates the provisions of
this section is guilty of a misdemeanor.
4. A county coroner is not required to
obtain a permit from the local health officer for the disinterment, removal or
transportation of human remains while carrying out his or her duties as the
county coroner.
