As used in this chapter, midwife means: 1. A person certified as: (a) A Certified Professional Midwife by the North American Registry of Midwives, or its successor organization; or (b) A Certified Nurse-Midwife by the American Midwifery Certification Board, or its successor organization; or 2. Any other type of midwife.
