Creation; appointment, qualification and terms of members; vacancies

1. The Committee to Review Suicide
Fatalities is hereby created within the Department. The Committee must consist
of the following 10 members appointed by the Director:
(a) A county coroner or medical examiner or his
or her designee;
(b) One person who represents providers of health
care;
(c) One person who represents organizations
having expertise in suicide prevention;
(d) One person who represents organizations having
expertise in the prevention and treatment of substance use disorders;
(e) One person who represents mental health
agencies;
(f) One person who represents law enforcement;
(g) One person who represents injury prevention;
(h) One person who represents Native American
tribes;
(i) One person who represents advocates for
individuals with mental illness and their families; and
(j) One person who represents veterans.
2. After the initial term, each member of
the Committee shall serve for a term of 3 years and may be reappointed. Each
member of the Committee serves at the pleasure of the Director. If a vacancy
occurs, the Director shall appoint a new member to fill the vacancy for the
remainder of the unexpired term in the same manner as the initial appointment.
