1. To the extent possible, the provisions
of the Interstate Compact on Mental Health are intended to supplement other
statutory provisions governing the treatment and transfer of persons with
mental illness and persons with intellectual disabilities and the return of
such persons to their place of residence must be given effect to the extent
that those provisions do not conflict with the provisions of the Compact.
2. Except as provided in subsection 3, if
there is a conflict between the provisions of the Compact and any other
provisions of NRS, the provisions of the Compact prevail.
3. Nothing in the Compact shall be
construed to restrict any rights of a consumer as provided in NRS 433.456 to 433.536 , inclusive.
