State Plan for Medicaid: Reimbursement of recipients and certain members of families of recipients for personal care services

1. To the extent authorized by federal
law, the Director shall include under Medicaid authorization for:
(a) A recipient of Medicaid to be deemed a
provider of services for the purposes of allowing the recipient to receive
reimbursements for personal care services covered by Medicaid and use that
money to pay for services provided by a personal care assistant acting pursuant
to NRS 629.091 or an agency to provide
personal care services in the home using a self-directed model.
(b) A member of the family of a recipient of
Medicaid to serve as a personal care assistant pursuant to paragraph (a) if the
family member:
(1) Completes the training required by NRS 449B.220 ; and
(2) Receives authorization from a provider
of health care pursuant to NRS 629.091 to act as a personal care assistant for the recipient.
2. As used in this section:
(a) Agency to provide personal care services in
the home has the meaning ascribed to it in NRS
449B.015 .
(b) Personal care services means the services
described in NRS 449B.465 .
