1. The Director shall include in the State Plan for Medicaid a requirement that the State pay the nonfederal share of expenditures incurred for cognitive assessment and care planning services provided to a person who experiences signs or symptoms of cognitive impairment. 2. As used in this section cognitive impairment means a deficiency in: (a) Short-term or long-term memory; (b) Orientation as to person, place and time; or (c) Deductive or abstract reasoning. The term does not include any condition with temporary or reversible effects.
