Purposes of Division

The
purposes of the Division are:
1. To ensure that the Medicaid provided by
this State and the insurance provided pursuant to the Childrens Health
Insurance Program in this State are provided in the manner that is most
efficient to this State.
2. To evaluate alternative methods of
providing Medicaid and providing insurance pursuant to the Childrens Health
Insurance Program that promote improved health outcomes and value-based care.
3. To review Medicaid, the Childrens
Health Insurance Program and other health programs of this State to determine
the maximum amount of money that is available from the Federal Government for
such programs.
4. To ensure compliance with federal and
state laws governing Medicaid and the Childrens Health Insurance Program.
5. To support the participation of
providers of health care in Medicaid and the Childrens Health Insurance
Program to meet the needs of recipients of Medicaid and insurance provided
pursuant to the Childrens Health Insurance Program.
6. To promote the sustainability of
Medicaid and the Childrens Health Insurance Program by leveraging all federal
funding available for those programs and otherwise ensuring that the public
money of this State allocated to those programs is used efficiently and
effectively.
