1. The reports and communications of all members of the Nevada National Guard in the line of their military duty are privileged communications and shall not be competent evidence against the writer in any civil or criminal action in the courts of this state. 2. In case any suit or action is brought against any member of the Nevada National Guard because of such reports or communications, the Judge Advocate or the Attorney General of this state, or both of them, at the direction of the Governor, shall appear in behalf of such member and defend the suit or action without cost to him or her.
