Nevada Code § 41.509

Action brought by parent; recovery; liability not exclusive

1. A parent of an adopted child who has
entered into an agreement that provides for postadoptive contact pursuant to NRS 127B.600 , 127C.600 or 127D.400 may bring a civil action against
a person if:
(a) The person knowingly provided false information
in response to a question asked by a court pursuant to NRS 127B.620 , 127C.620 or 127D.420 ; and
(b) The provision of false information caused the
court not to incorporate the agreement that provides for postadoptive contact
in the order or decree of adoption pursuant to NRS 127B.620 , 127C.620 or 127D.420 .
2. If a person is liable to a parent of an
adopted child pursuant to subsection 1, the parent may recover actual damages,
costs, reasonable attorneys fees and any punitive damages that the facts may
warrant.
3. The liability imposed by this section
is in addition to any other liability imposed by law.
