Nevada Code § 387.114

Legislative declaration

The
Legislature hereby finds and declares that providing breakfast to pupils in
elementary schools and secondary schools after the instructional day has
officially begun:
1. Increases the number of pupils who have
the opportunity to eat a healthy breakfast and who are otherwise qualified for
free or reduced-price lunches under the National School Lunch Act.
2. Furthers the goals and objectives of
the United States Department of Agriculture to increase the consumption of
nutritious meals by pupils.
3. Improves academic performance.
4. Improves the overall health of the
children of this State by reducing food insecurity.
5. Generates additional revenue for
programs of nutrition for children through federal grants and programs.
