Disbursement of money for public schools

1. Except as otherwise provided in
subsection 2 and NRS 387.528 , the State
Treasurer shall pay over all public school money received by the State
Treasurer for the support of school districts only on warrants of the State
Controller issued upon the orders of the Superintendent of Public Instruction
in favor of county treasurers. When endorsed, the orders are valid vouchers in
the hands of the State Controller for the disbursement of public school money.
2. Except as otherwise provided in NRS 387.528 , if the board of trustees of a
school district establishes and administers a separate account pursuant to the
provisions of NRS 354.603 , the State
Treasurer shall pay over to the school district all public school money due the
school district.
3. The State Treasurer shall pay over all
public school money received by the State Treasurer for the support of charter
schools only on warrants of the State Controller issued upon the orders of the
Superintendent of Public Instruction in favor of the charter schools. When
endorsed, the orders are valid vouchers in the hands of the State Controller
for the disbursement of public school money.
