Museum directors: Notice to and consultation with certain Indian tribes

1. In providing notice and consultation
with Indian tribes as required by this chapter, the museum director of an institution
shall immediately notify, in writing, and initiate consultation with any Indian
tribe:
(a) Who is or is likely to be culturally
affiliated with the applicable artifact or site;
(b) On whose aboriginal lands the applicable
artifact was discovered or the site was located; or
(c) Who is reasonably known to have a direct
cultural relationship to the applicable artifact or site.
2. The written notice must include a
proposed time and place for the consultation with the museum director.
