Investigation and action by Attorney General or certain designees

1. Except as otherwise provided in
subsection 2, the Attorney General shall investigate diligently any alleged
liability pursuant to this chapter and may bring a civil action pursuant to
this chapter against the person liable.
2. A district attorney or city attorney
may accept a designation from the Attorney General to investigate any alleged
liability pursuant to this chapter and may bring a civil action pursuant to
this chapter against the person liable.
