Nevada Code § 289.585

Requirement for law enforcement agency to notify Commission regarding certain criminal charges filed against or certain separation from employment of peace officers; provision to Commission of summary of outcome of investigation pending at time of separation

A
law enforcement agency shall:
1. Immediately notify the Commission if a
peace officer employed by the agency:
(a) Is charged with a crime for which the
regulations adopted by the Commission pursuant to NRS 289.510 authorize the Commission to
revoke or suspend the certificate of the peace officer; or
(b) Resigns from employment or otherwise
separates from employment with the agency while an investigation concerning
alleged misconduct is pending; and
2. If a peace officer resigns or otherwise
separates from employment while an investigation concerning alleged misconduct
is pending, provide to the Commission a written summary of the outcome of the
investigation as soon as practicable after completing the investigation.
