1. The Board of Regents of the University of Nevada shall provide a retirement program separate from the Public Employees Retirement System. The program must provide retirement and death benefits for members of the professional staff. The State and the participants shall contribute to the cost of the program. 2. A person employed as a member of the professional staff who is enrolled in the Public Employees Retirement System at the time of the persons employment shall remain a member of that System. Any other eligible employee must be enrolled in the retirement program.
