1. Upon making an appointment to fill a vacancy in an elected office, the appointing authority shall notify the filing officer for that elected office. The notice must include: (a) The name, residence address and telephone number of the appointed person; (b) The political party of the appointed person; and (c) The term of the appointment. 2. This section applies to each appointment to fill a vacancy in an elected office, including, without limitation, the initial appointment to fill a vacancy in a newly created elected office. 3. As used in this section, filing officer has the meaning ascribed to it in NRS 293.057 .
