Duty to designate certain sites for sales initiated on Internet; limitation of action

1. Except as otherwise provided in
subsection 2, each town board or the board of county commissioners shall
designate at least one police station, or part thereof, as a site at which two
or more persons may meet to complete the sale of an item of personal property
that was initiated on the Internet.
2. If the town is within the jurisdiction
of a metropolitan police department formed pursuant to chapter 280 of NRS or if police protection for
the town is provided by the sheriff of the county, the board of county
commissioners shall designate at least one sheriffs office, or part thereof,
located in or in close proximity to the town as a site at which two or more
persons may meet to complete the sale of an item of personal property that was
initiated on the Internet.
3. No action may be brought against the
county, sheriff, town, police department or an officer or employee thereof
based on an incident that occurs when two or more persons meet at a location
designated pursuant to subsection 1 or 2.
