Public hearing for dismissed employee

1. When an employee of an unincorporated
town other than a department head who has been employed by the unincorporated
town for 12 or more months is dismissed from employment, the dismissed employee
may request within 15 days of the date of dismissal a written statement
specifically setting forth the reasons for such dismissal. Within 15 days of
the date of such request, the dismissed employee shall be furnished such a
written statement. Within 30 days after receipt of such written statement, the
dismissed employee may, in writing, request a public hearing before the town
board or board of county commissioners to determine the reasonableness of such
action. The town board or board of county commissioners shall grant the
dismissed employee a public hearing within 15 days after receipt of the written
request. At the public hearing, technical rules of evidence shall not apply.
2. Town boards or boards of county
commissioners are authorized to enact town ordinances necessary to make
effective the purposes of this section.
