Nevada Code § 269.0165

Adoption by initiative petition; procedures for appointment or election of initial members of town board

1. A town board form of government may be
adopted by means of initiative petition of the residents of the town.
2. The procedures established by NRS 295.085 to 295.125 , inclusive, for the adoption of
county ordinances by initiative petition must be followed by the residents and
each document of the petition must set forth briefly the proposal to establish
a town board form of government. The election required to be held if the
proposal is not adopted by the board of county commissioners must be held not
less than 30 days nor more than 60 days after the date of the final board vote
thereon.
3. Members of the town board must be
appointed and elected as provided in:
(a) NRS
269.017 , if the proposal to adopt the town board form of government is
approved by the board of county commissioners; or
(b) NRS
269.0171 , if the proposal is submitted to the electors for their approval.
