Petition for disincorporation; publication of notice by district court; question to be submitted to voters at next city election; determination of registered voters

1. Whenever one-fourth of the registered
voters of any city now existing or hereafter created by general law petition
the district court in and for the county in which the corporation is situated
for the disincorporation of the city, the district court shall cause to be
published, for at least 30 days, a notice stating that the question of
disincorporating the corporation will be submitted to the registered voters of
the corporation at the next city election. The form of the ballot must be For
Disincorporation or Against Disincorporation.
2. The registered voters provided for in
this section must be determined from the registration lists as taken from the
office of the county clerk for all precincts in the city at the last general
election held in the county.
