Nevada Code § 245.065

Public hearing for dismissed employee in certain counties

1. When an employee of a county other than
a department head, county manager or county administrator who has been employed
by the county for 12 or more months is dismissed from employment the employee
may request within 15 days of the date of dismissal a written statement
specifically setting forth the reasons for the dismissal. Within 15 days of the
date of the request the employee so dismissed shall be furnished the written
statement. Within 30 days after receipt of the written statement, the dismissed
employee may, in writing, request a public hearing before the board of county
commissioners to determine the reasonableness of the action. The board of
county commissioners shall grant the dismissed employee a public hearing within
15 days after receipt of the written request. At the public hearing, technical
rules of evidence do not apply.
2. Boards of county commissioners are
authorized to enact ordinances necessary to make effective the purposes of this
section.
3. The provisions of this section do not
apply in counties having a population of 100,000 or more.
