1. Except as provided in subsection 5, when streets or easements acquired by a district organized or reorganized pursuant to chapter 318 of NRS have been accepted for dedication by a board of county commissioners pursuant to NRS 278.380 and 278.390 , the board of county commissioners shall: (a) Maintain and repair such streets or easements; or (b) Pay the board of trustees of such district for the maintenance and repair of such streets or easements. 2. If the board of county commissioners maintains and repairs the streets or easements, it shall do so in the same manner as other streets or easements are maintained or repaired by the county. 3. If the board of county commissioners pays a board of trustees for such maintenance and repair, the amount of money paid shall be that fraction of the total money allocated to the county pursuant to NRS 365.550 which equals the ratio of the total miles of such dedicated streets or easements to the total miles of all county streets and roads. 4. Any such money received by a board of trustees shall be used for maintenance and repair of such streets or easements or for the purchase of equipment for such work and shall not be used to defray the expenses of administration of the district. 5. If the repair of a street or easement is necessary because of an improvement undertaken by a board of trustees, the board of county commissioners is not required to repair or pay for the repair of that street or easement.
