1. If any board of county commissioners determines that it is advisable to have a special census taken, it may contract with the Bureau of the Census of the United States Department of Commerce to have a special census conducted under federal supervision. 2. The necessary expenses of the special census shall be paid by the county, and upon obtaining an estimate of the cost of such special census the board of county commissioners shall budget such cost in the same manner as other items of the budget.
