Nevada Code § 244.1503

Imposition of civil penalty in lieu of criminal penalty for violation of county ordinance

In
addition to any other authority granted pursuant to this chapter, the board of
county commissioners may, by ordinance, impose a civil penalty in lieu of a
criminal penalty for a violation of a county ordinance, unless state law
expressly prohibits the imposition of a civil penalty or prescribes a criminal
penalty for the same act or omission.
