1. The State Controller may appoint a Deputy in the unclassified service of the State, who may, in the absence of the State Controller, do all acts devolving upon and necessary to be performed by the State Controller, except the signing of state warrants and bonds. 2. Except as otherwise provided in NRS 284.143 , the Deputy State Controller shall devote his or her entire time and attention to the business of his or her office and shall not pursue any other business or occupation or hold any other office of profit.
