Directing trust adviser means a trust adviser, trust protector or other person designated in the trust instrument who has the authority to give directives that must be followed by the fiduciary. The term does not include a trust adviser, trust protector or other person who gives recommendations, counsel or advice that the fiduciary is not required to follow under the terms of the trust instrument.
