Revocation of certificates and removal of authority to solemnize marriages; hearing; duties of Secretary of State

1. Any county clerk who has issued or
renewed a certificate of permission to perform marriages to a minister, other
church or religious official authorized to solemnize a marriage, notary public
or marriage officiant pursuant to NRS
122.062 to 122.073 , inclusive, may
revoke the certificate for good cause shown after a hearing.
2. If the certificate of permission to
perform marriages of any minister, other church or religious official
authorized to solemnize a marriage, notary public or marriage officiant is
revoked or if the county clerk has received an affidavit of removal of authority
to solemnize marriages pursuant to NRS
122.0665 , the county clerk shall inform the Secretary of State of that
fact, and the Secretary of State shall immediately remove the name of the
minister, other church or religious official authorized to solemnize a
marriage, notary public or marriage officiant from the official list contained
in the database of ministers, other church or religious officials authorized to
solemnize a marriage, notaries public or marriage officiants and shall notify
each county clerk and county recorder in the State of the revocation or removal
of authority.
