52-2-101 . Definitions. As used in this part, the following definitions apply: (1) "Child welfare services" means the establishing, extending, and strengthening of child welfare services, especially in predominantly rural areas, for the protection and care of abused or neglected children. (2) "Department" means the department of public health and human services provided for in 2-15-2201 .
