42-2-101 . Recognition of adoption in another jurisdiction. (1) A decree or order of adoption has the same effect as a decree or order of adoption issued by a court of this state if the decree or order is: (a) issued by a court of any other state that is entitled to full faith and credit in this state; or (b) entered by a court or administrative entity in another country acting pursuant to: (i) that country's law; or (ii) to any convention or treaty on intercountry adoption that the United States has ratified. (2) The rights and obligations of the parties as to matters within the jurisdiction of this state must be determined as though the decree or order were issued by a court of this state.
