41-3-1006 . Terms -- officers. (1) A board member shall serve at the pleasure of the appointing authority. However, if not otherwise released from service on a board, the following provisions apply: (a) A member shall serve a term of 2 years, except that if a vacancy occurs, a successor must be appointed to serve the unexpired term. (b) A member may be reappointed and continue to serve until a successor is appointed. (2) A board shall elect annually from its membership a presiding officer and vice presiding officer to serve in the absence of the presiding officer.
