33-17-101 . Scope of chapter. (1) The purpose of this chapter is to govern the qualifications and procedures for licensing insurance producers. (2) Except as provided in subsection (3), this chapter applies to all stock, mutual, and reciprocal insurers and to all kinds of insurance and annuities. (3) Except as provided in 33-17-401 and 33-17-408 (2), this chapter does not apply to surplus lines producers.
