31-3-115 . Adverse information. (1) Whenever a consumer reporting agency prepares an investigative consumer report, adverse information in the consumer report, other than information that is a matter of public record, may not be included in a subsequent consumer report unless the adverse information has been verified in the process of making the subsequent consumer report. (2) A consumer reporting agency shall block the reporting of any information in the file of a consumer that the consumer identifies as information that resulted from an alleged identity theft, pursuant to 15 U.S.C. 1681c-2.
