1. A person commits the offense of sports bribery in the second degree if he or she, being a participant or prospective participant in any sport or game, accepts, attempts to obtain, or solicits any benefit in exchange for losing or trying to lose or causing to be lost or limiting the margin of victory in any sport or game in which the participant is taking part, or expects to take part, or has any duty or connection therewith. 2. The offense of sports bribery in the second degree is a class A misdemeanor.
