1. A beneficiary designation that purports to have been made and which is valid under the Uniform Probate Code, Uniform TOD Security Registration Law or similar law of another state is governed by the law of that state and the nonprobate transfer may be executed and enforced in this state. 2. The meaning and legal effect of a nonprobate transfer shall be determined by the local law of the particular state selected in a governing instrument or beneficiary designation. 3. The provisions of this chapter shall be applied and construed to effectuate their general purpose to make uniform the law with respect to the subject of this chapter among states enacting a similar law.
