1. Sections 375.1000 to 375.1018 may be cited as the "Unfair Claims Settlement Practices Act". 2. The purpose of sections 375.1000 to 375.1018 is to set forth standards for the investigation and disposition of claims arising under contracts or certificates of insurance. It is not intended to cover claims involving workers' compensation, fidelity, suretyship or boiler and machinery insurance. Nothing in sections 375.1000 to 375.1018 shall be construed to create or imply a private cause of action for violation of sections 375.1000 to 375.1018 .
