1. The director shall maintain his office in Jefferson City and shall keep the same open from eight a.m. to five p.m. every day except Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. He shall be furnished with suitable rooms in the capitol or other state office building, which shall be furnished with a safe, furniture, stationery, printing and such other things as may be necessary for the transaction of the business of his office. 2. With the approval of the governor, the director may maintain branch offices in this state as may be needed to effectively discharge the duties of his office.
