Missouri Code § 21.060

Majority necessary to a choice in elections.

In all elections made by either house, or by joint vote of both houses, the vote of a majority of the members present is necessary to a choice. When an election is by joint vote, the president of the senate shall grant the person elected a certificate, which, in all cases where a commission is required, is sufficient to authorize the granting of a commission.
