Complaints Concerning Violations (1) Any person may file a complaint alleging violations of the contribution limits set forth above with the Missouri Ethics Commission which complaint shall be acted upon promptly by the commission in the same manner and with the same effect as other complaints over which the commission has jurisdiction. (2) Instead of filing a complaint with the Missouri Ethics Commission, any person may file a civil action in summary process in the circuit court for the circuit in which the alleged violation occurred, against the alleged violator or violators, seeking a forfeiture to the General Revenue of the State of any amount of contributions in excess of the limits set forth above.
