Missouri Code § 104.520

Legal advice, representation — attorney general to provide legal services, when.

The board may appoint an attorney or firm of attorneys to be the legal advisor * to the board and to represent the board in legal proceedings, however, if the board does not make such an appointment, the attorney general of the state shall furnish, upon request, whatever legal services are necessary.
