Definition of practice

Dietetics is the integration and application of principles derived from the sciences of nutrition, biochemistry, physiology, food, management and behavioral and social sciences to achieve and maintain peoples' health. Dietetics practice is the provision of services which include, but are not limited to: (a) Providing medical nutrition therapy. (b) Development, administration, evaluation and consultation regarding nutritional care standards of quality in food services and medical nutrition therapy. (c) Providing case management services. (d) Developing, implementing and managing nutrition care system.
