Purpose of chapter; definitions

The purpose of this chapter is to promote the growth and development of the peanut industry in Mississippi by research, advertisement promotions and education and market development, thereby promoting the general welfare of the people of this state. For purposes of this chapter: (a) "Board" means the Mississippi Peanut Promotion Board. (b) "Department" means the Mississippi Department of Agriculture and Commerce.
